I cook to love my heart.
Marilyn’s awareness of heart disease started early. At 12 years old, she lost her grandmother to a massive heart attack. Her father had cardiomyopathy and she was there when it was time to say goodbye to him after a long battle with the disease. Instead of sitting back, Marilyn took the advice of the American Heart Association and medical professionals and started “watching her numbers.” As part of that process, Marilyn who enjoys cooking, relishes the chance to take a recipe and adapt it to create a healthier dish for herself and for her family. Her motto is “small changes do add up” and she’s taking steps so her family history of cardiovascular disease ends with her generation.
